Located in the Beijing Olympic Green, National Aquatics Center is designed by the consortium of the CSCEC (China State Construction and Engineering Corporation), Arup Group (in Australia) and PTW Architects (in Australia). It is the main venue for the swimming and diving of 2008 Beijing Summer Olympic Games, accommodating 17,000 audiences. The overall length and width are both 177m and the height is 31m. The exterior and interior walls are composed of 3,000 irregular air cushions with a coverage area of 110, 000 square meters; the biggest one is 70 square meters and the biggest span of the air cushion is 8.5m. ETFE membranes structure of this project, the largest in size and the most difficult in technique and construction so far in the world, is built by Shenyang Yuanda Aluminium Industry Engineering Co.,Ltd.
